The Bachelor of Cardiovascular Technology (B.CVT) at Apollo Healthcare Academy is a four-year undergraduate degree programme designed to equip students with the clinical capabilities and competencies necessary for modern cardiac care. The programme aims to develop experience in technical skills that emphasise assisting in interventional procedures, responding to and managing cardiac emergencies and providing assistance for cardiovascular function evaluations using modern, relevant diagnostic modalities.

The course curriculum has been developed in collaboration with experienced cardiologists and academic specialists, placing a strong focus on clinical readiness, enabling students to acquire the competence to assist with ECG, echocardiograms, cardiac catheterisations, etc. The programme offers a comprehensive academic background in areas related to cardiovascular anatomy and physiology, haemodynamic monitoring, pharmacology in cardiovascular care and procedures associated with cardiovascular technology.

By the end of the programme, graduates develop competence and technical skills needed in the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular problems and thus play a significant role in advanced cardiac care

Programme Objective

To build a solid understanding of the fundamentals of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology.
To develop the technical and analytic skills necessary to perform cardiovascular diagnostic procedures, as well as monitoring procedures.
To provide a practical understanding of the use of cardiovascular equipment and to provide assistant support in invasive or non-invasive cardiac procedures.
To develop critical thinking skills, clinical judgement, ethical practices and effective communication in cardiac health care settings.
To train students to respond to cardiovascular emergencies and build their competency in situations of real-time cardiac care.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • tick Applicants must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as required subjects and a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognised board.
  • tick Students with a PCM background who take Biology as a supplementary course are also eligible.
  • tick Must have passed class 12th with at least 45% (40% for reserved category students) marks with Biology, Physics and Chemistry and attain 17 Years as on 31st December of the calendar year.
