PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

To establish a solid understanding of the concepts of biomedical, visual science, ocular anatomy and optics.
To provide both technical and clinical skill competency associated with the complete eye examinations, vision assessments and optical dispensing.
To offer experiential training to students about the diagnosis and management of refractive errors, ocular conditions and low vision management.
To cultivate professional ethics, critical thinking and communication skills in patient-centred environments, specifically blood disease cure.
To prepare students to appropriately act in clinical situations using modern tools and ophthalmic technology.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The Bachelor of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology (B.MRIT) curriculum is structured over five years to provide comprehensive knowledge of vision science, clinical diagnostics and ophthalmic practice, culminating in a full-year clinical laboratory internship.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Applicants must have completed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects with at least 50% marks.
  • Students with a PCM background and Biology as a supplementary subject are also eligible.
