The Bachelor of Physician Associates (B.PA) at Apollo Healthcare Academy is a four-year undergraduate course that nurtures skilled healthcare practitioners with the ability to aid doctors in the diagnosis processes, the treatment of patients as well as patient care. It is a programme designed to offer a combination of intensive academic education and extensive clinical experience.

The curriculum begins with foundational courses on Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pathology and Pharmacology. The heart of the programme, however, is extensive, physician-supervised clinical training in the areas, including general medicine, emergency medicine, cardiology and other significant specialities

The supervised clinical practice helps the students to be proficient in obtaining patient histories, carrying out physical examinations, interpreting diagnostic data, etc. Also, the course puts some special focus on ethical practices, good judgment and teamwork. The programme is designed in collaboration with top-class medical faculty and practising doctors to ensure that the graduates are academically prepared and clinically competent to practice with confidence in healthcare settings.

Programme Objective

To equip students with skills in taking patient histories, physical examination, clinical diagnosis and clinical presentation.
To develop a diagnostic skillset by interpreting lab results, imaging, ECGs and other diagnostic modalities.
To enable students to become team players and assist physicians with patient assessment, developing treatment plans, follow-up and patient counselling in different clinical settings.
To provide learners with practical exposure to performing procedures, assisting in surgeries and responding to emergencies.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • tick Applicants must have completed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as required subjects and a minimum of 50% aggregate marks from a recognised board.
  • tick Students with a PCM background who take Biology as a supplementary course are also eligible
  • tick Must have passed class 12th with at least 45% (40% for reserved category students) marks with Biology, Physics and Chemistry and attain 17 Years as on 31st December of the calendar year.
