What is Medical Microbiology?

Medical microbiology is the study of bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites that cause disease, and of the tests that find them. A medical microbiologist grows cultures, identifies organisms, tests which antibiotics still work, and helps hospitals track and control infections. In the national framework, the master's in medical laboratory science is offered as specialisation degrees, and Medical Microbiology is one of them, with the others being Medical Biochemistry, Hematology and Transfusion Medicine, and Histology and Cytopathology.

Choose a partner university tied up with Apollo Healthcare Academy (see our partner universities), train at a nearby Apollo hospital or one of our partner hospitals, and get hands-on experience, career guidance and job and placement support from AHA. Your partner university awards the degree.
