Apollo Healthcare Academy (AHA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with C&A Corporation, Japan, to collaborate on healthcare education and advanced imaging technology. The partnership brings AHA students direct exposure to C&A Corporation's specialised work in radiation detection and medical imaging materials, an area of growing relevance to nuclear medicine and diagnostic imaging careers.
C&A Corporation is a Tohoku University-origin Japanese deep-tech company developing advanced single-crystal materials, crystal-growth technologies, and radiation/neutron detectors, with applications spanning medical imaging, radiation monitoring, nuclear research, industrial sensing, and advanced materials. Through this collaboration, AHA students will gain structured exposure to the technology and research underpinning modern medical imaging equipment, alongside interaction with C&A Corporation's Japanese research and technology team.
India has fewer than 500 trained nuclear medicine technologists for a population of 1.4 billion, even as the country's nuclear imaging market - currently valued at roughly $422 million - is projected to grow to $703 million by 2031. The country adds 20–30 new nuclear medicine centres every year, and PET-CT installations have already surpassed 50 units nationwide, driven by rising cancer and cardiac diagnosis volumes. The gap between equipment growth and trained personnel is exactly the shortage AHA's Nuclear Medicine Technology and Medical Radiology & Imaging Technology programmes are built to address - and a direct line to the underlying detector and imaging technology, through a partner like C&A Corporation, is a genuine differentiator few Indian training programmes currently offer.
Opportunities to interact with experts from C&A Corporation, including researchers and technology leaders from Japan.
Exposure to technologies such as PET, radiation detection, scintillator technology, and related diagnostic applications, subject to the scope of the collaboration.
Explore emerging careers in healthcare technology, medical imaging, diagnostics, and research.
This is particularly relevant for students in AHA's Bachelor of Science in Nuclear Medicine Technology and Bachelor of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology programmes, where radiation-detection and imaging technology is directly part of the clinical and technical curriculum.
