The B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) at Apollo AHA is a 4-year undergraduate degree programme that shapes students into trained diagnostic professionals who are important for the evolving healthcare system. The programme prepares students with the skills to conduct an extensive variety of laboratory tasks involving collection, processing and analysis of biological samples and the use of rigid diagnostic strategies and instrumentation.

The B.Sc. MLT programme equips graduates with the knowledge needed to work confidently in hospitals and diagnostic centres, alongside research and public health laboratories, in order to provide accurate insights necessary for quality patient care. Technical skills for providing quality and accurate diagnostic services are developed through practical study in clinical biochemistry, haematology, microbiology, immunology, cytology, molecular biology, etc. There is also an emphasis in the curriculum on quality control, safety in the laboratory, principles of biomedical ethics and troubleshooting.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  • Candidates must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the calendar year.
  • Must have completed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as main subjects with at least 50% marks.

PROGRAMME FEE

Graduates can pursue an M.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology, Clinical Research, Biochemistry, Microbiology or other allied health sciences. Many of our students go on to specialise through post-graduate diplomas in specialised areas like Molecular Biology, Cytogenetics or Blood Banking.
