Radiology course fees in India depend on the institution, the seat and the length of the course, and the number on a website often leaves out costs that arrive later. Two universities can charge quite different amounts for the same B.Sc, and one may count the internship year while another does not. This guide explains what sets the fee, shows what four universities state on their own pages, and sets out how the fee works at Apollo Healthcare Academy (AHA).
Our fee in short: the tuition fee for the Bachelor of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology (B.MRIT) at AHA is ₹2.5 lakh per annum. It is a four-year programme, and the degree is awarded by our partner university.
What Decides Radiology Course Fees
Four things move the fee more than anything else.
- Type of institution. Government colleges set fees through the state. Private colleges and universities set their own.
- Course length. Some B.Sc radiology programmes are three years of study plus a one-year internship. Others are written as four years. A lower fee a year can still cost more over a longer course.
- Seat type and admission route. The fee can change with how you get the seat, so ask which seat a quoted fee is for.
- What the fee covers. Some colleges put exam, lab and clinical charges into one figure. Others list them separately.
If you want to know which radiology courses exist and who can join each, our guide to the radiology course after 12th covers types, eligibility and careers. This guide is only about cost.
Radiology Course Fees in Private Colleges: Four Examples
The table shows what four universities state on their own programme pages for the B.Sc in radiology and imaging technology, as we read them on 23 October 2026. It is a way to see the spread, not a ranking, and fees change every session, so check the university’s page before you decide.
| University | Course length | Fee as published |
|---|---|---|
| Galgotias University | 4 years (3 years plus 1 year of clinical training or internship) | Tuition ₹1,40,000 a year, exam fee ₹20,000 a year, accident insurance ₹650 a year, caution money ₹2,000 once, student ID card ₹1,000 |
| SGT University, Gurugram | 3 years plus a 1-year internship | ₹2,00,000 per annum. The page does not say what it covers |
| D.Y. Patil University, Navi Mumbai | 3 years plus a 1-year non-stipendiary internship at D.Y. Patil Hospital, Nerul | ₹2,00,000 per year for 2026-27 |
| M S Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru | 4 years | ₹2,40,000 as the total fee for the first year of 2026-27. Later years are not shown |
Two things stand out. The first-year cost runs from about ₹1.6 lakh (Galgotias, once tuition, exam fee and insurance are added) to ₹2.4 lakh. And the pages do not describe the fee in the same way: one splits it into five lines, two give a single number, and one gives only the first year. That is why you should always ask what a quoted fee includes.
Government College Fees
Government colleges follow their state’s fee schedule, and seats are limited and filled through the state’s own admission process. Each state publishes its own fee schedule and admission rules, so the right place to check is the admission notice for the year you apply. We do not quote a single national figure for government fees, because we found no official source that gives one.
Course Length and the Internship Year
The total you pay depends on how many years you pay for. The University Grants Commission (UGC) lists the B.MRIT as a four-year degree after Class 12 in its notification of 27 August 2026. Some universities describe the same length as “3 + 1”, meaning three years of study and a final year of internship.
Ask two questions before you compare fees. Is the internship year charged at the same rate, charged less, or not charged? And is the internship paid or unpaid? D.Y. Patil’s page says its internship is non-stipendiary, which means no stipend.
Radiology Technician and Radiology Diploma Course Fees
People who search for radiology technician course fees or a radiology diploma are often looking at a shorter route than the degree. A radiology technician, or radiographer, operates the imaging equipment and positions the patient. The route can be a certificate, a diploma or a B.Sc, and the fee is set by each institute. We found no official source that gives a fee range for these shorter courses, so we do not quote one. Ask the institute for its written fee structure, and check who awards the certificate or diploma.
Radiologist Course Fees: A Different Route
A radiologist is a doctor who reads and reports on scans. That route starts with a medical degree and then a postgraduate seat, which is filled through NEET-PG, conducted by NBEMS. Its fees are set by medical colleges and are a different subject from the B.Sc fees in this guide. A B.Sc in radiology and imaging technology prepares you to work as an imaging technologist, not as a radiologist.
Radiology Course Fees at Apollo Healthcare Academy
If you are comparing options after Class 12, here is how our B.MRIT is set up, taken from our Bachelor of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology programme page.
- Tuition fee: ₹2.5 lakh per annum.
- Programme length: four years, in eight semesters. Semesters VII and VIII are a compulsory rotatory internship.
- Eligibility: 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and at least 50% aggregate marks from a recognised board. Students with a PCM background who take Biology as a supplementary course are also eligible.
- Age: 17 years as on 31 December of the calendar year of admission.
- Degree: awarded by our partner university. See the partner universities page for details.
- Training: hands-on learning in hospitals, rising from 20% of the work in semester I to 100% from semester IV. The partner hospitals page lists where.
- How you pay: fees are payable semester-wise, with the first instalment due at admission. Semester-wise, annual and one-time payment options are offered. Partner banks also offer need-based help and student loans, which the admissions team can explain.
At ₹2.5 lakh a year, our tuition fee is higher than the yearly figures in the table above, so the comparison that matters is what each fee includes, how the internship year is treated, and the training and degree you get. Our programme page gives it as an annual figure and does not state a programme total. Ask for the year-wise fee schedule before you pay, including the internship year, and compare colleges on total cost, not only the yearly figure. You can see every programme on the programmes page, and the steps to apply are on the admissions page.
Scholarships on the B.MRIT Fee
Scholarships are tuition fee waivers based on a composite score: half from the AHA Scholarship Test and half from your Class 12 aggregate. The table applies each slab to the ₹2.5 lakh tuition fee as a simple per-year sum. It assumes the fee is the same every year, which the programme page does not confirm.
| Composite score | Tuition fee waiver | Tuition a year after waiver |
|---|---|---|
| 95 and above | 25% | ₹1,87,500 |
| 90 to 94.99 | 15% | ₹2,12,500 |
| 85 to 89.99 | 10% | ₹2,25,000 |
Several rules limit the waiver. Awards go in order of score until 10% of the intake is filled, so reaching a slab does not guarantee one. The waiver applies to tuition only, not to exam, hostel or transport charges. It is confirmed only when you pay the first-year tuition (after the waiver) within the deadline. To keep it in later years you need at least 80% attendance in each subject and a CGPA of 7.5 or more each year. Merit scholarships do not stack with the Apollo or partner-university employee ward and sibling waivers, and only the higher benefit is given. The rules for the 2026-27 session are on the scholarship page.
What the Tuition Fee May Not Include
A fee that looks low can grow once other charges are added. Before you compare, ask each college for a written list covering:
- Admission or registration fee, paid once
- Exam fees each year (Galgotias charges ₹20,000 a year on top of tuition)
- Whether the internship year is charged, and whether it is paid
- Caution money or a security deposit (Galgotias takes ₹2,000 once)
- Insurance, student ID and similar yearly charges
- Hostel, mess and transport
- Books, uniform, lab and clinical charges, if not already inside the tuition figure
- Any yearly increase in fees
How to Compare Radiology Course Fees Fairly
- Write down the total, not only the yearly fee. Multiply by the number of years you will pay, including the internship year if it is charged.
- Match the course length. A three-plus-one course and a four-year course cannot be compared on the yearly fee alone.
- Add the extras from the list above.
- Subtract any scholarship you are likely to receive, and remember it is not guaranteed.
- Check where the internship happens and whether the hospitals are named.
- Check who awards the degree and that the university is recognised.
The same method works for other allied health courses. Our guide to physiotherapy course fees applies it to the BPT.
Is the Radiology Course Fee Worth It?
A B.MRIT opens roles such as radiology technologist, CT scan technologist, MRI technologist, ultrasound imaging associate, radiology operations associate, interventional imaging assistant and diagnostic imaging coordinator. We provide job and placement support to our students, but it does not guarantee employment. Rather than trusting any promised salary, judge the course on the training: how many hospital hours, which hospitals, and who awards the degree.
Where to Go Next
If the B.MRIT fits, read the programme page for the curriculum, then speak to the admissions team about the year-wise fee schedule and your scholarship slab.
FAQs
Publish these as a Frequently Asked Questions section at the end of the article, and add FAQ schema in Yoast (11 questions).
What Is the Radiology Course Fee at Apollo Healthcare Academy? The tuition fee for our Bachelor of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology (B.MRIT) is ₹2.5 lakh per annum, as stated on our programme page. Scholarships can reduce it under the rules on our scholarship page.
How Much Does a Radiology Course Cost in India? It depends on the university, the seat and the course length. The four universities in the table above state yearly figures from about ₹1.6 lakh (Galgotias, with tuition, exam fee and insurance) to ₹2.4 lakh (M S Ramaiah, first year). Other institutes charge differently, so check each fee page.
Is the B.Sc Radiology Fee Charged Per Year or for the Whole Course? Most university pages state it per year, and some state only the first year. Our programme page gives the B.MRIT fee as ₹2.5 lakh per annum. Ask for the year-wise schedule so you can add up the total.
What Is the Fee for a Radiology Technician Course? It depends on the institute and on whether the course is a certificate, a diploma or a B.Sc. The same goes for radiography course fees, since radiography is the same imaging work. We found no official source that gives a fee range, so we do not quote one. Ask the institute for its written fee structure.
Does the Radiology Course Fee Include the Internship? It depends on the college. Ask whether the internship year is charged and whether it is paid. D.Y. Patil’s page says its internship is non-stipendiary. For the B.MRIT, ask for the year-wise fee schedule, including semesters VII and VIII, which are the compulsory rotatory internship.
Are There Scholarships for Radiology at AHA? Yes. Scholarships are tuition fee waivers of 25%, 15% or 10% based on a composite score, given until 10% of the intake is filled. Details are on our scholarship page.
Does Radiology Need NEET? That depends on the college. Our programme page lists 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and at least 50% aggregate marks, and our admissions page lists an aptitude test and interview. Some universities use their own tests or CUET-UG scores. Read each college’s admission notice.
Is a Government or a Private Radiology College Cheaper? Government colleges follow their state’s fee schedule, and seats are limited. Private colleges and universities set their own fees. We do not quote a national figure for government fees, because we found no official source for one.
Can a Student with PCM Join the B.MRIT? Our programme page lists 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology and at least 50% aggregate marks. It also allows students with a PCM background who take Biology as a supplementary course.
How Many Years Is the B.MRIT? Four years. The UGC notification of 27 August 2026 lists the B.MRIT as a four-year degree after Class 12, and our programme runs over eight semesters, with the last two as the internship.
What Is the Difference Between a Radiologist and a Radiology Technologist? A radiologist is a doctor who reads and reports on scans, after a medical degree and postgraduate training. A radiology technologist operates the imaging equipment and positions the patient. The B.MRIT prepares you for the technologist route.
